A long time resident of the Chippewa Valley, Senator Kreitlow spent his early career as a popular news anchor at WEAU in Eau Claire. In the Senate, Pat has been the leading advocate for the development and use of home grown and produced renewable fuels. In addition to his work on energy issues, Pat has been an outspoken supporter of campaign finance reform legislation and has worked tirelessly to expand our state's efforts to bring high tech businesses and good paying jobs to Wisconsin.
Senator Sullivan of Wauwatosa has been an outspoken supporter of job creation and economic development in Southeastern Wisconsin. He’s championed the development of new biotech and medical research industries, and the new high-paying jobs that they bring. In addition, he’s worked to improve our law enforcement and safety services, and he continues to push the state to increase benefits for our many veterans and those currently serving in the armed forces.
Senator Lehman has been serving the Racine community for over two decades - as City Councilman, State Representative, and now State Senator. In the Senate John is a leader for working families and the middle class - working to bring new, well-paying jobs to the region, increase wages, and protect workers of bankrupt companies. As a former teacher John is also a strong advocate for high standards and fair state funding for our public schools.
Senator Vinehout is perhaps best known for her ongoing fight to bring real health care reform to the state of Wisconsin. Kathleen has put all of her energy into ensuring that every man, woman, and child in Wisconsin gets the same level of health care that we as State legislators receive. As the owner of a family farm, Kathleen has also devoted her efforts to helping Wisconsin’s farmers get the support they deserve and the resources they need to succeed.
Senator Jauch has served Northwest Wisconsin as a legislator for over 26 years. He is a leader in environmental policy, most recently as author of the Great Lakes Compact legislation. Senator Jauch’s legislative activity also focuses on health care, rural development, tax fairness, and education. The Senator’s work on education issues has paved the way for important programs such as TEACH and SAGE. A tireless advocate for the citizens of Northern Wisconsin, Senator Jauch continues to fight for economic opportunity, stewardship of the environment, and the health and well being of the people of Wisconsin.
Senator Russ Decker of Weston is a journeyman bricklayer and former business manager for his local of the Bricklayers International Union. In the Senate, Russ has been a strong advocate for working families and tax fairness. As Senate Majority Leader, Russ has fought to eliminate corporate tax loopholes, fund worker training programs, and attract good paying jobs to Wisconsin. He is an avid hunter and fisherman and a member of the Rib Mountain Bowmen Club.

Candidates for 2012
Dr. Elmer has been a Family physician in Kimberly for the last 20 years. In that time he has received numerous awards and commendations for his outstanding care, culminating in 1998 when he was recognized as the Wisconsin Family Physician of the year. In 2008 Dr. Elmer was elected to the Kimberly School Board. Almost immediately he was selected to be the Board’s president and has served in that role since. On the school board he has devoted himself to providing world class education while balancing the needs of schools, teachers, students, and taxpayers. He is known as a pragmatic consensus-builder, and plans to bring this results oriented approach to Madison.
Tim Cullen is one of the most well-known, and well-respected public servants in the State. He has served as Majority Leader of the Wisconsin State Senate, the Secretary of the Department of Health and Social Services, an executive at Blue Cross, Blue Shield, and most recently on the Janesville School Board. In each of these roles he’s developed a reputation for effective, thoughtful, and consensus building leadership.
Born and raised in Middleton, Jon Erpenbach has lived in the 27th Senate District his whole life and represents the views and priorities of his neighbors proudly. Jon has been a leader on many issues since elected to the Senate including; health care,education, privacy, job creation, economic development for high and low tech businesses, workers rights and campaign finance reform. The 27th Senate District is unique in that it is both urban and rural, farm country and next generation businesses. The people of the 27th Senate District are always Jon's top priority.
Senator Tim Carpenter was born on the South Side of Milwaukee and has lived there his entire life. He's served his constituents as a strong supporter of seniors, as a steadfast advocate for workers and consumers, and he has fought to protect our environment. His ready willingness to stand up for his constituents has not always made him the most popular in Madison, but it has made him respected. Senator Carpenter will return for his third term next session ready to bring to the floor of the Senate the ideas he's heard at his over 80 Town Hall meetings and his thousands of door-to-door visits.

Born and raised in South Milwaukee, Senator Jeff Plale has represented the 7th Senate District since 2003. Jeff is a tireless advocate for the greater Milwaukee area working to create jobs, improve public schools, support higher education and research, help small business, and improve Milwaukee County transit. Through his membership on the State Building Commission, Jeff is well-versed in state building projects and labor issues, and has secured funding for important projects at UW-Milwaukee and Marquette. As the Chair of the Senate Committee on Commerce, Utilities, Energy, and Rail, Jeff's developed a unique understanding of the statewide energy and utility policies that are increasingly relevant in the day to day lives of Wisconsin's citizens. Jeff also serves on the Senate Committee on Agriculture and Higher Education as well as the Senate Committee on Small Business, Emergency Preparedness, Workforce Development, Technical Colleges, and Consumer Protection.
