Secrecy Pacts and Party Bosses

SSDC:  Now We Know the Truth Behind the Redistricting Scandal

Madison - The redistricting scandal that has included secrecy pacts, court

lawsuits, and now a new revelation - the indicted former Assembly Speaker

Scott Jensen was privy to review the new maps before Senator’s were allowed

to talk about their districts with the constituents that elect them into

office.  Scott Jensen was indicted in 2006 after his involvement in one of

the most corrupt scandals in Wisconsin history.  Scott Jensen now represents

one of the most partisan independent expenditures that spends millions of

dollars per election cycle on negative ads that citizens of Wisconsin have

denounced.

Zac Kramer, Executive Director for the State Senate Democratic Committee,

said, “Senators Van Wanggaard, Pam Galloway, and Terry Moulton are pawns to

Republican party bosses, and now to Scott Jensen.  If partisan politics

wasn’t involved in this process, then how or why was Scott Jensen involved?

“Everyday we hear about Republican attempts to destroy the integrity of

Wisconsin for their own benefit.  Wisconsin has a proud tradition of open

and transparent government, and what we have seen from this Republican

majority is shameful.  Senate Majority Leader Scott Fitzgerald has let power

inflate his ego to the point where he disrespects the opinion of the

citizens of Wisconsin.” Kramer Continued.

Local recall committees have forced recall elections against State Senators

Galloway, Moulton, Wanggaard, and Majority Leader Scott Fitzgerald because

of their votes to eliminate bargaining rights for public employees,

increasing taxes on the middle class, while simultaneously handing out

hundreds of millions of dollars in tax breaks to the wealthy and

corporations.
