SSDC:  Fitzgerald, Galloway, Moulton, Wanggaard Vote Against Open Meetings Resolution

MADISON - The four senators who are up for recall continue to vote party line and against the voices of their constituents. Today, all four voted to send a resolution back to the Senate Organization Committee to change the Senate's rules to prevent the committee from waiving a rule requiring a bill to have a public hearing before it could be placed on the Senate calendar.

Zac Kramer, Executive Director of the State Senate Democratic Committee stated, "the Republican's continue to push their political agenda beyond the normalcy of government.  What the citizens of Wisconsin ask for in their government is accountability, and openness when dealing with the people's business.  We need a modern 21st Century government, that can be held accountable by the people." Kramer continued, "it's time for state government to stop working behind closed doors with lobbyists and special interest groups and start looking out for us."

Local recall committees have forced recall elections against State Senators Fitzgerald, Galloway, Moulton, and Wanggaard because of their votes to eliminate bargaining rights for public employees, increasing taxes on the middle class, while simultaneously handing out hundreds of millions of dollars in tax breaks to the wealthy and corporations.
